Val del Melo
a website for a wine made a stone’s throw from the sea
Val del Melo is a young estate in the Maremma, making wine and oil a few kilometres from the sea at Argentario. Eleven hectares of olives, vines and fruit trees; whites, reds and rosés with names that sound like fragments overheard in conversation — Le cose che contano, C’era e non c’era, Ora di pranzo, In attesa.
The site had to carry that salt-air lightness: plenty of room to breathe, with the images and colours of the place setting the pace.
VSIDE Studio led the project and set the design; I built the site on a custom WordPress theme with GSAP animation.

In development I gave most attention to the pacing of the animation, keeping it light so the products stand out: the labels are painted by Alessandro Tofanelli and the interactive estate map is drawn by Simone Boni, and neither needed a second voice over the top.
The result has a strong visual character, held in check — the identity and the products of a young estate, presented in a way that feels current.
