Museo Galileo
an illustrated video guide for the science museum app
The Museo Galileo in Florence holds one of the most important collections of scientific instruments in the world, tied to the Medici and Lorraine dynasties and to the discoveries of the scientist himself.
To digitise the collection inclusively, under a national recovery plan programme, the museum brought in a new multimedia kit by MARE Labo and built it into its official app.
I co-devised the format of the video guide and made all the drawings: an accessible, inclusive tool aimed at younger visitors.

LIVE

We chose a register that is clear but lively, letting the illustrations work against a voice-over narration. The permanent displays called for a production stretched across sixteen video chapters, one for each room. The drawings follow the stories behind some of the most revolutionary discoveries in science, inviting people to look around, ask questions and explore the museum on their own.

The result is an illustrated journey that lives on the visitors’ own phones, turning the dense history of science into something you listen to and see.
