the image of the festival, since 2019
River to River Florence Indian Film Festival is the first festival devoted entirely to Indian cinema to be founded outside India: since 2001 it has brought the stories and the films of the subcontinent to Florence, a bridge between the Ganges and the Arno. Since 2019 I have made the image for every edition — a new illustration each year, which becomes the poster, the titles, the identity of the festival.

The difficulty of a long-running commission is staying recognisable while changing every time: each edition wants an image of its own, but all of them have to belong to the same family. The graphic design is by Fabiana Bonucci Studio, holding together the line of the illustrations and an identity that has to work on a poster, a website, social media and a catalogue.
Seven years with this festival, and an identity that changes without ever stopping being itself.
